Like the Turner’s Prize in the UK, the Walters Prize is always controversial. People either hate it or love it, or somewhere in between. Sometimes it can be a challenge to relate to. Often a good knowledge of art, the references and the artist is required.
This tour is taken by the very knowledgeable Associate Professor, Linda Tyler to help us unravel what is considered the ‘cutting’ edge of NZ Contemporary art. Count on her (with her huge and unique knowledge to draw on) help us at least understand it, the participating artist’s viewpoints and where international and national art trends are roaming.
We’re excited, not to be missed!
