Tour Reviews
Thanks for the art walk today. Really enjoyed it. wonderful hearing about the artists and the galleries. Great to meet new people. Thanks again
That really catpures the spirit of it. Thanks for posting.
A great walk Saturday which started meeting Hobart artist Nick Goodwolf. Also featured David Cauchi, Terri Stringer little appreciated public sculpture, play_station and Meanwhile.
Another terrific Art Explore Saturday with Mark. We saw a great many public sculptures around the Lower Lambton Quay areas in the sunshine before finishing up with two half-hour blocks at the Portrait Gallery and at the Academy of Fine Arts near the waterfront.
I have been attending and helping out with Art Explore walks for some time now and have loved every minute! Their latest themed walk set the group on a tour of the traditional, contemporary and often quirky at four of Wellington’s best sites for exhibiting jewellery. A bonus was getting to visit The Makers work space on Abel Smith Street for a tour of the studio and a play-by play of the displayed pieces by co-founder Annie Collins. Stay for the coffee and fantastic conversation after the walk is over. I have been attending and helping out with Art Explore walks for some time now and have loved every minute! Thank you for the tour Mark.
Some great little art spots, most of them I didn’t even know existed and the ones I did know of, hadn’t been to yet. Added bonus of sharing your knowledge of the history of the buildings and public arts and spaces along the way. A great way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday morning and learnt a bit more about this wonderful little city.
Not to mention met a wonderful group of people, all art enthusiasts themselves. Looking forward to the next tour.
