Curators of Cuba: Toi Poneke with Eve Armstrong and Sian Torrington
In episode #8 of a filmed conversation series with the galleries and artists that help make Cuba Street, Te Aro, Wellington area as dynamic as it is, Mark Amery talks to artists Sian Torrington and Eve Armstrong, Senior Arts Advisor WCC about Toi Poneke. Toi Poneke has become an important space for exhibition, support and residence for Wellington artists since 2004. Sian Torrington introduces her exhibition I’m glad you’re here, just the way you are (on until 18 July) and her group Band Sensation’s performance 11 July, 2pm. The full series of 14 interviews with galleries and their artists is being filmed and distributed via social media over June and July.
